Little James [Male] b. 01 APR 1785 Dumfrieshire, Canonbie, Scotland - d. 1860 Galloway, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada
Emigrated to the Port of Richibucto in New Brunswick, Canada in 1819 at the age of 69.
James Little the third eldest son of James and Mary was born in Galloway, New Brunswick, in 1827. He granted lands in Galloway adjoining or near his fathers grant and married Anne the daughter of William and Margaret Armstrong Robinson a neighbor of the Littles. Their two sons and three daughters were born in Galloway but in later years James and Anne moved to Clairville where he purchased land, a part of the Matthew Little grant opposite the Clairville school house. James was injured while working in his wood lot by a falling tree and died from the effects of this injury shortly afterwards. He was known to be a fine Christian man and was wont to read his Bible daily. He died at the age of 64 and is buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Clairville. Anne died in 1899 at the age of 53 and is buried beside her husband.
The present generation of living descendents of James and Anne Little include G. Ernest Little, General Merchant, Berry Mills, N. B., Gordon Little, Freeport, Texas, and Hannah Little Jones, R.N. of Danvers, Mass.
James married Griselda Reid and operated a farm at Escuminac, Bonaventure County, Quebec. Many of his family reside there still.

John was a Millwright and killed in Sowerby?s Mill at Campbellton in August, 1888, and laid to rest in Galloway Cemetery.
Lawrence ?Lornie? W. Little, 88 of Clairville, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Born in Clairville, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Scott) Little. Prior to his retirement as a school bus driver, Lornie hauled wood, coal, gravel and ran a small family farm. He loved teasing children and making everyone laugh. A strong giant with a gentle heart. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Clairville, a Church Elder, member of the Manse Committee and a volunteer for the Cemetery.
Lornie will be sadly missed by his wife of over 67 years, Mariam (Steeves) Little; sons, Stuart (Gloria), Wasaga Beach, ON; Gerald (Janice), Clairville; daughter Marilyn Lerette (Peter), Sackville; grandchildren, Larry (Marlene), Michelle, Becky (Matt), Dan (Pam), Heidi, Amie (Daniel), Cody; great grandchildren, Carlee, Hannah, Lauren, Taylor, Graden, Kalmit, Blake, Gracen, Tiare, Kaleb; sister, Flora Beers (Warren), Beersville; in-laws, Freda (Harold) Steeves; Ray (Caroline) Steeves; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, predeceased by sisters, Ida, Alice, Jean, Hughena; brother, Walter.
Visitation at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Clairville, Friday, 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Saturday, August 30, 2008, 2:00 pm, Rev. Sandy Sutherland officiating. Interment, Church Cemetery.

Mary, who inherited her mothers red hair, married Frank Kenney, an Irish settler, they granted lands in Clairville and resided there.

Samuel, third son of William and Mary Ann moved to Caribou, Maine in the 1880?s where he married Marion Page. Sam was a successful carpenter and contractor until his death in 1900. His son Harry Little was assistant postmaster at Houlton, Maine for many years and Arthur another son resides in Buffalo, New York.

To my family and friends on June 2, 2007 my daughter Stacey passed away. She died at home in Ottawa. Stacey is survived by her mother Penny Little, grandmother Iris (Mickey) Crocker and several aunts, uncles, cousins in Thunder Bay. She will be missed by several close friends in Revestoke, B.C. where Stacey grew up. Cremation has occurred in Ottawa and the remains to be buried in Mountain View Cemetery on July 9, 2007. Special thanks to Shirley Crocker for all her help and to Ken Haggerty for the service. For those who care and those who share donations to Drug Rehab, 63 Carrie St., Thunder Bay, ON, P7A 4J2.

Vernon Earle Little's ashes were spread at Latitude 35.00 North. Long 122.27.5 West.
William, James? eldest and Andrew, another son, were the first of James? family to emigrate from Scotland. They arrived in Richibucto in March, 1818.
William Little was born in Dumfrieshire, Scotland in 1814 and came to Canada with his parents at the age of five years. He lived in Galloway all of his life and died in 1875 at the age of 61. He is buried in Galloway Cemetery.
William inherited the family homestead at Galloway where he married, first his cousin Margaret Jane Little then after her death Mary- Ann Reid.
